Candidate Forum for the Third Circuit Court. The League of Women Voters from Wayne County will be sponsoring a candidate forum for judicial candidates running for non-incumbent positions in the Third Circuit Court. The primary election is August 5, 2008. There are three open seats and the August primary will cut the field from eleven candidates to six.
Friday, June 27, 2008	10:30 a.m.	Double Tree Hotel Fairlane Room 5801 Southfield Freeway at Ford Road (enter via service drive near Chili's Restaurant) Detroit, MI 48228	Detroit Metropolitan Area League of Women Voters (DMA) Annual Meeting. League members are welcomed to attend. Events include business meeting, luncheon, and speaker/program. The speaker is Carmine Palombo, SEMCOG Transportation Chair. Titled "Show Me the Money", discussions will cover how counties can cooperate and pay for mass transportation, who is going to need public transportation in future years, and how the cost of gasoline and the energy crisis will influence public need for mass transportation.
