Kickoff Meeting: Promote the Vote Update. Our annual Kickoff Meeting will include a "Promote the Vote" update with Sharon Dolente, Voting Strategist, ACLU. Sharon coordinated Promote the Vote efforts, and spoke at the May 2019 LWVMI convention. She will be updating us on the implementation of the Promote the Vote, successfully passed by voters in November 2018.

  LWVMI Centennial. On April 4, 1919, the LWVMI was formed!
Michigan women had already won the right to vote statewide (before the 19th Amendment itself was officially ratified nationally), and the inaugural LWVMI convention was held in Grand Rapids where Florence Belle Brotherton of Detroit was elected its first president.
